“Lock the tight and HDD, cover the upper cover, can immediately trust the usage.” If you sometimes see sentences like this in manuals, then you know that incomprehensible instructions make it very difficult or even impossible to use a product. Serious errors in the user interface or help topic can have severe consequences, including data loss and hardware damage. Even minor mistakes often frustrate users, who need to waste their time figuring out the author’s intention, instead of simply using the feature or fixing the problem and continuing their work. Most importantly, a good translation is correct, consistent, and comprehensible, while the instructions are written in a simple language, without redundant floweriness.
Many people will find a typo or another error in a message they just sent or a document they just printed. It is more difficult for authors of written/translated texts to find their own mistakes, especially if the time period between writing and proofreading is short. An additional review by a professional helps ensure higher quality texts.
Localization and proofreading are my main specialties, but I also translate general and technical documents. I will gladly take part in other interesting projects as well.
For over 14 years I have professionally localized software and its documentation. I also have extensive experience in proofreading such translations. Every year, I translate hundreds of thousands of words. I have worked on a variety of projects, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft System Center, IBM Business Process Manager, IBM Rational Performance Tester, IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM WebSphere Portal, IBM SmartCloud, HERE WeGo, Esri ArcGIS, and Pricefx.
This question can not be answered without looking at the text, just as you can not say how much a computer costs without a detailed specification. Contact me and send me the text. We can work out the details and you will receive a free quote.
